Mountaineer Veterinary Clinic
James M Minger, DVM 239 Greenbag Road Morgantown, WV 26501 (304) 296 1667

Dr. Minger landed in Morgantown by way of St. Clairsville Ohio where he met his wife, Charena. Looking for a place to settle down and raise a family, a friend from veterinary school introduced me to local veterinarians. Which is how I met Dr. Hyde who was looking to retire. The rest is history and in October 1997 I became the full time veterinarian at Mountaineer Veterinary Clinic.

After 3 years we were able to find a house to live in and along came our son Alex in 2001. He is now a third grader at Mountainview Elementary School. He spends all his spare time dedicated to hockey and is a member of the Morgantown Blades Mite travel team. Of course this keeps Dad running to help the team as needed and make sure Alex gets to the ice rinks throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.

While my wife Charena and I enjoyed traveling with several high school friends of mine, that had slowed while we all had young kids. Now that they are all in the right age category we can again enjoy a few travel opportunities when time allow.

Since Alex's pre-mature birth in 2001, Charena stepped away from her second career of being Mountaineer Veterinary Clinic's full time office manager. Her career previous to moving to Morgantown was as a Certificed Surgical Technologist, as we say in veterinary medicine (working in the human operating room). Over the last 4 years she has spent most of her energy fighting Reynauds Phenomenom, a disease that has caused considerable damage to her hands causing limited use and religating her to be confined in the house during even mildly cold weather.
